“Fighters Cannot Just Wait Around Forever” – Frank Warren Gives Hard Deadline for Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua

Frank Warren has finally spoken about the possible collision between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua for all the heavyweight world titles. While Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum have grabbed most of the spotlight regarding the fight updates, Warren has mostly remained silent.

However, he has shed light on the title unification clash, citing this weekend as a deadline to come up with a fight date. He appears optimistic about seeing it happen and has tagged the matchup to be on the verge of finalization.

Meanwhile, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua seem to have begun their training camps. Hence, Frank Warren took their sides and revealed why a professional boxer shouldn’t keep waiting for long.

In a chat with The Daily Star, he said, “We remain hopeful that something substantial comes to fruition, and all parties are set for a busy weekend trying to sort this whole thing out. The worst case scenario is we have to explore other options, but I hope that’s not the case. Fighters cannot just wait around forever, and It’s very near judgment day for this particular fight.” (H/T- Boxing Scene).

Adding to that, Eddie Hearn has also produced several updates. From meeting the WBC champion, Tyson Fury, in Las Vegas to revealing minor insights into the fight development, the Matchroom Chairman seems to have done his best. So, the heavyweight battle may not meet the scrapheap as of this moment.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua- Frank Warren makes a point

Tyson Fury hasn’t fought since his WBC title win over Deontay Wilder in February 2020. On the other side, Anthony Joshua knocked out Kubrat Pulev to defend his unified titles in December 2020. Thus, the sheer difference in activity can play a pivotal role as time ticks by and the fight gets delayed even further.

A reported site deal of $150 million is expected to be over by this week. The fight can land up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and with a venue confirmed, a date may be a mere formality.

The heavyweight punchers sit pretty atop the division and have vanquished all other challengers. Hence, they seem content to wait for their promoters to sort things out for the undisputed collision. But for how long will they bide their time?
