PES and Metal Gear Developer Konami Announces Disappointing decision regarding E3 2021

The house that brought us the Metal Gear Solid franchise had a rather disappointing announcement to make earlier today. The iconic video game publishing house Konami announced that it will not be attending this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo event. With E3 being cancelled last year due to the pandemic situation, there were doubts in the community regarding the possibility of the event this year. However, the ESA soon announced that the biggest annual event for the gaming community will be held completely online this year in the month of June.

Although the community is really looking forward to it, the announcement from Konami came as some sort of a buzzkill. It is one of the most iconic brands when it comes to video games. Konami retreating from the event is a big deal for fans around the world. The community has been waiting eagerly for the announcements about upcoming titles at the event. As it turns out, they might have to wait a bit longer.

Konami pulling out of this year’s E3 comes as a bit of a surprise as well. The official announcement for this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo listed these publishers as one of the notable ones. Furthermore, there were ongoing rumours that suggested that the publisher will be showcasing two titles for Nintendo Switch at this year’s E3.

Although Konami will not be appearing on this year’s E3 panel, they do have some exciting projects in the oven!

According to the tweet from the Konami official Twitter handle, this is all due to a timing issue. However, it has assured fans that they have a number of “key projects” currently in development.

Looks like the reason does not span beyond the timing issue and that there is no ongoing tension between the Entertainment Software Association and the iconic game publishing house.

As for the updates about the ongoing projects at Konami, the company has assured that the community can expect updates in the coming months.

Well, let us see how the entire online version of E3 2021 plays out. We are sure there are a lot of other spectacular game reveals to look forward to.
