Pink rewrote her will during Covid-19 battle: ‘I thought it was over for us’

Pink rewrote her will while she and her son battled Covid-19 last year.

The popstar revealed in early April last year that she and son Jameson Moon had tested positive for coronavirus, and had struggled to breathe as the virus attacked their lungs.

Things got so bad with their illnesses that Pink, real name Alecia Moore, thought that she and her now four-year-old son were going to die.

Speaking to Mark Wright on Heart, the 41-year-old said: ‘This is going to sound crazy but we had Covid last year, very early in March, and it was really, really bad, and I rewrote my will.

‘Jameson and I were really sick, and Carey and Willow weren’t. So at the point where I thought it was over for us, I called my best friend and said, “I just need you tell Willow how much I loved her.”

‘It was really scary and really bad.’

The Raise Your Glass singer added: ‘As a parent, you think, “What am I leaving for my kid? What am I teaching them? Are they going to make it in this world? And what do I need to tell them if this is the last time I get to tell them anything?”’

Pink previously called her and Jameson’s Covid battle ‘the most physically and emotionally challenging experience I have gone through as a mother’, writing in an essay for NBC News: ‘Weeks after receiving our test results, my son was still ill and feverish. It was a terrifying time, not knowing what might come next.’

Her husband Carey Hart explained that while Pink struggled as she has asthma, their son Jameson got the worst symptoms.

Speaking on SiriusXM, the motocross star said: ‘It was intense. They both got extremely sick. My son probably got the worst of the two of them and it debunks the whole theory that this only hits old people.

‘[Pink] has asthma and it totally attacked her lungs and chest. She was having a hard time breathing.’

Carey, 45, and Willow, nine, had no symptoms, but quarantined alongside Pink and Jameson just in case.

After the family’s ordeal, Pink donated $1million (£720k) to Covid relief in the States, with $500,000 (£360k) going to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia, and $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency Covid-19 Crisis Fund.

The United States is now opening back up with a successful vaccine rollout underway.

There have been over 33 million cases of coronavirus in America, and over 590,000 deaths related to the virus.

California, where Pink lives, has been the worst hit, with over 3,700,000 cases.
