Ariana Grande has been spotted out and about, indulging in a spot of high-end shop browsing in London during some down-time during shooting for the movie adaptation of musical Wicked.

The chart-topper stars as Glinda the Good Witch, while Oscar-nominee Cynthia Erivo is Elphaba, who will go on to become the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz prequel.

Thank U, Next singer Ariana has been kept busy working on the two-part film series in the capital in recent months, but Sunday allowed her a little time to herself for some retail therapy.

The 29-year-old was spotted going incognito on a bustling Bond Street among fellow shoppers.

She was in a relaxed off-duty outfit of straight-legged jeans, sensible black waterproof jacket and platform boots.

He bleached blonde hair was hidden under a baseball cap and she accessorised with a grey crossbody bag, diamond earrings and a fetching pair of pink-framed oversized sunglasses.

Ariana also carried a water bottle with her, to help stay hydrated as she continues shooting a vocally demanding role, as well as her phone.

The Grammy-winner was spotted popping into luxury brand Chloé’s flagship store among others but appeared to leave empty handed.

Ariana appeared relaxed and happy in her own company as she spent a little me time in the capital.

The shopping trip came after the first glimpses were seen of her and co-star Erivo in costume for their Wicked roles.

Sharing the snaps to Instagram, Ariana and Cynthia gave their followers a teaser of what’s to come, posting without captions because, well, the pics really do all the talking in this instance.

As Glinda, Ariana could be seen wearing a gorgeous, puffy pink dress as she climbs up a staircase.

Meanwhile, Cynthia’s image shows her as we’ve never seen her before, broomstick in hand, fully covered in green paint and, of course, wearing her pointed hat.

Both shots were pretty dark, leaving some details hard to decipher as they teased fans, but it’s fair to say everyone was very excited to see what could be made out.

The film, based on the 2003 hit Broadway show (and itself based on Gregory Maguire’s book) also stars Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible and Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero.

Ariana also recently hit back at body-shaming comments she’s received, urging her fans in a TikTok video to be ‘gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what’.

She also said her past body she was being compared to was ‘the unhealthiest version of my body’ as she shared she had been on anti-depressants while drinking and eating ‘poorly’ and ‘at the lowest point of my life’.

The singer then ended her address with a positive message to fans that they were beautiful ‘no matter what weight, no matter how you like to do your makeup these days, no matter what cosmetic procedures you’ve had or not, or anything’.

‘I just think you’re beautiful and wanted to share some feelings.’
