Footage from inside the store’s pyjamas and lingerie section revealed that unwanted PJs are discarded in piles over six feet tall.
One customer at the store has slammed fellow shoppers for having “no respect for the employees”.
Elisabeth Sosa wished “courage” to the workers who had the arduous task of dismantling the piles and sorting through the clothes.
The messy shop is in Brussels city centre, Belgium – so Brits can breathe a sigh of relief they won’t be surrounded by mountains of crumbled pyjamas any time soon.
Elisabeth’s video caused a social media frenzy.
Over 7,000 people weighed in on “disrespectful” shoppers and questioned how long it would take Primark workers to dismantle the piles of discarded clothes.
One viewer said: “Whenever I go to Primark this is why I always fold the item If I don’t want it.”
A second asked: “So, I guess I am one of the few that folds EVERYTHING I touch back again?”
A third added: “This situation tells volumes about people’s basic education and manners.”
Other viewers couldn’t work out how much effort or time it would require for staff to get the messy areas of the shop cleaned up.
One penned: “People don’t respect staff members.”
To which someone replied: “They don’t respect themselves either.
“Go to their houses, I assure you there is the same mess.
“Some are used to living like that, that’s all they know!”
Elisabeth’s video has totted up an impressive four million views and over 85,000 likes.
