The 2021 edition of the Wells Fargo Championship will award a total prize purse of $8.1 million. There is a drastic $1.2 million difference when comparing the prize pool of this tournament with that of the preceding Valspar Championship.

Wells Fargo Championship payout for the top five positions

There was no Wells Fargo Championship in 2019 due to the pandemic. The year before, in 2019, the tournament had a total prize pool of $7.9 million, and the organizers have increased it this year. That implies that the top positions will be awarded a higher payout. 

The winner of the Wells Fargo Championship will receive $1.458 million from the total purse. It is the standard 18% stake that a champion gets for winning an event on the PGA Tour. The same does not apply to the rest of the field, unfortunately.
