Wednesday’s Thing sports bowtie for red carpet debut with iconic appearance at TV Baftas-Emily Bashforth-Entertainment – Metro

Wednesday’s Thing put in a rather creepy appearance at this year’s TV Baftas – and we love it.
The fictional character is part of the hit Netflix series starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams.
Essentially, it’s a floating hand, which is portrayed by Victor Dorobantu in the 2022 series – seriously, this takes hand modelling to a whole new level.
The live-action series shows Thing with stitches on him, and he’s in charge of watching over Wednesday while she attends Nevermore Academy, only for Wednesday to force him to help her with solving the mysteries of the school and the town of Jericho.
But Thing was brought to life once more for the TV Baftas on Sunday (May 14), and even got a little dressed up for the starry bash.
Sporting a sweet little bowtie, the character’s poses were, admittedly, rather limited, although we can imagine he stole the show on this year’s carpet.

Complete with stitches, scarring, and nails that really could’ve benefitted from a manicure, Thing certainly looked the part.
Unsurprisingly, Wednesday has been nominated for an award at the 2023 TV Baftas, following its mega success and astronomical streaming figures.
The international category includes Wednesday, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, The White Lotus, and Pachinko.
In a shocking twist of events, Stranger Things failed to secure a nom, however, Kate Bush’s haunting Running Up That Hill is up for P&O Cruises’ memorable moment after an iconic scene saw Lucas, Dustin, and Steve rush to save Max from Vecna.

Other big nominees this year include The Traitors and Derry Girls.
What’s more, This Is Going to Hurt and The Responder received six nominations each across various categories, while Bad Sisters, The Crown, The English, and Slow Horses have received five nods.
Daisy May Cooper’s Am I Being Unreasonable? and Big Boys got four each.
Of course, a whole host of stars arrived at this year’s red carpet, along with Thing, to celebrate another epic year of TV.

Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore, BBC Radio 1 presenter Vick Hope and Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley were among the first to arrive.
Claudia Winkleman also rocked up in an iconic outfit with a nod to The Traitors and its success, while Tess Daly donned a metallic gown, and Motsi Mabuse dazzled in a fairytale-esque floral number.
