But uncharacteristically, James has missed multiple games this season. Having suffered a scary high ankle sprain, LBJ missed a whooping 25 games this season.

With LBJ missing from the lineup, the Lakers have struggled massively and have a record of 10 wins and 15 losses. Given their struggles, the defending champions will hope that their superstar can join them soon.

NBA insider reveals LeBron James’ probable return

LeBron James isn’t one of those players who are willing to sit out of games if he isn’t injured. After missing 20 games in a row and seeing his team drop off to the 6th seed, LBJ rushed his return from the ankle injury.

While he did put up decent numbers, it was visible that LBJ was still missing a step in his game. After playing two consecutive games and winning none of them, LBJ revealed that he had re-injured himself and was set to miss the next 4 games for the champions.

However, Laker fans will be elated with the latest update. According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, ‘the King’ is planning to make his return against the Knicks on Tuesday.

LBJ’s return is surely a massive boost for the champions. Given how dependent they have been on superstar Anthony Davis lately, and them missing point guard Dennis Schroder, James is certainly a big plus in the lineup.

Can LBJ lead the Lakers to a repeat?

The Lakers have had a disappointing regular season so far. Ravaged by injuries, the Purple & Gold have slipped to the seventh seed in the Western Conference and might end up playing the upcoming play-in tournament.

Given their disappointing performances, many have been critical of the champions of late. But in their previous game against the Suns, the Lakers showed their real quality.

With an amazing 42-point performance from AD and some amazing defensive performance from the team, the champions are starting to look like their former selves.

With things falling into place, James is returning at the best time possible for the champions. The biggest question, however, will be which LBJ are we going to see upon his return.

If LeBron can prove that he can be his explosive self with his return and get into the game in the remainder of the regular season, the champions will be set for a deep playoff run and a possible repeat this season.
