Piers Morgan says he still ‘doesn’t believe’ Meghan Markle’s claims as he marks Mental Health Awareness Week
It’s probably no surprise that Piers Morgan isn’t backing down on his views about Meghan Markle, admitting he still ‘doesn’t believe’ her shocking claims.
The Duchess of Sussex sat down with Oprah Winfrey in March alongside Prince Harry to explain what pushed them to quit as working senior members of the Royal family.
During the explosive chat, Meghan claimed a top Royal made a comment about her son Archie’s skin complexion before he was born, while also revealing that she had considered suicide due to racist abuse and feeling lonely within the establishment.
Piers said on Good Morning Britain at the time that he wasn’t convinced by any of Meghan’s claims and, perhaps unsurprisingly, nothing has changed since.
On Monday, Piers supported the start of Mental Health Awareness Week by tweeting: ‘To mark #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, a quote I’ve always found helpful in tough times.’
The quote from Rocky Balboa read: ‘Going in one more round when you don’t think you can – that’s what makes all the difference in your life.’
It prompted one fan to ask if Piers now ‘believes in mental health’, to which the TV presenter responded: ‘I believe in mental illness, I just don’t believe Meghan Markle. ps Please don’t call me “Bellend” – it’s bad for my mental health.’
Last week, Piers ripped into Meghan again after it was announced she would be releasing a children’s book.
Titled The Bench, the book is inspired by Harry’s relationship with their two-year-old son Archie, and will celebrate the relationship ‘between fathers and sons from all walks of life’.
However, Piers accused Meghan of ‘ruthlessly disowning’ her own father Thomas Markle.
In his column for the MailOnline, the 56-year-old wrote: ’The whole notion of Meghan Markle dishing out advice to anyone about the relationship between fathers and children is absolutely ridiculous given the appalling relationships she and her husband have with their own fathers.
‘Yet her brazen decision to do it anyway is so sadly typical of a woman whose tendency for staggering hypocrisy is only matched by her extraordinary tone-deafness.’
Piers quit GMB after receiving over 41,000 complaints over his rants about Meghan.
