Billie Eilish reveals how a fan inspired her ‘dream’ new blonde hair

Billie Eilish unveiled a new platinum blonde look recently, and she’s now revealed that it was a fan who inspired the bold new ‘do.

The 19-year-old broke the internet after her British Vogue cover went viral, showing a whole different side to the Bad Guy singer.

Billie has been praised for the stunning shoot, which saw her swap her usual baggy fit for a custom Gucci corset – as well as striking new hair.

While Billie has often dyed her hair different colours in the past, Billie revealed that it was in fact one of her millions of fans that prompted her to go blonde while speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

After being asked by Ellen what inspired the change, Billie said: ‘I’ve been wanting to go blonde for a while, I don’t know what came over me.

‘I saw a fan edit, when I had green hair, and they just edited blonde hair on me, and I was like, “Ah! It’s so sick I kinda want it.”‘

At first though, Billie didn’t think it would be possible to make the ‘dream’ change ‘because my hair has been through so much I thought it would burn it all off if I tried, but I did it!’

Ellen went on to talk about how Billie had to wear a wig as her hair changed colour, saying it was difficult to go from ‘dark dark hair to that colour of blonde.’

‘Yes, it’s very hard,’ Billie said, adding that ‘it took about six weeks’ to complete the transition.’

When asked if her hair was healthy and ‘not falling out when you brush it,’ Eilish said: ‘Well, I gotta say, it’s been falling out when I brush it for years.’

The Vogue shoot was accompanied by a video in which Billie was asked questions by a host of celebrities, including Missy Elliot, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Halle Berry, Tim Burton, Orlando Bloom, Jodie Comer, Mel C, Stormzy, Arlo Parks, Avril Lavigne and her brother Finneas.

During the interview, Billie revealed that she went on a date for the first time this year.
