After her chart success with her latest single Padam Padam, Kylie Minogue has shared more exciting news with fans as she’s set to headline Radio 2 in the Park.

The Australian singer surprised fans at Capital’s Summertime Ball and is ramping up the excitement with this new show announcement.

Following a four-year break from touring, the Princess of Pop has stormed up the UK charts to achieve her highest place in 10 years with her catchy dance track.

Kylie, 55, will headline Sunday at Radio 2 in the Park and close out the entire festival, which takes place this September in Leicester.

She said: ‘Over the years I’ve done many unique and varied performances for BBC Radio 2. I’m so excited to be headlining Radio 2 in the Park in Leicester later this year! I can’t wait to celebrate with you all, see you September 17th!’

Padam Padam has proven to be her highest charting hit since 2014’s Into The Blue and has become a cult favourite song, especially for Kylie’s legions of LGBTQ+ fans for who she has been a long-time ally.

Fans were quick to share their excitement for the show, with presenter Rylan Clark responding to Kylie’s announcement with skull and heart emoji.

‘We will be seated queen !!! 🧡🧡🧡’ said one fan while another replied: ‘Life just keeps getting better.’

In a post for her 55th birthday, Kylie wrote how she was ‘bursting with joy’ at the response to Padam Padam and thanked fans for their support.

As the Sunday headliner, Kylie was the last act announced on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show with the Spinning Around singer introducing herself simply by saying ‘padam padam.’

Saturday’s headliner is pop rock band Tears for Fears, who said: ‘We love playing live and can’t wait to bring some of our favourite songs, old and new, to thousands of Radio 2 listeners’.
