I bought Skims shapewear in a L-XL – I’m really glad I sized up, there’s also an amazing detail I didn’t notice at first

A NEW Skims shopper has shared a shapewear try-on on TikTok, highlighting an unexpected detail she really liked.

She was happy to have sized up in the Fits Everybody underwear, and there’s a great detail she missed at first that she found quite amazing.

“Unbox my Skims order with me,” Lily Pebbles (@lilypebbles) began in her TikTok video.

“So I’m going to a wedding this weekend and I’m planning on wearing this dress from Oliver Bonas,” she said.

It was a casual orange and pink dress with a checker pattern.

“But when I put it on you could kind of see the outline of my tummy, especially my belly button.

“I love the dress but I feel a little self-conscious of that.

“I’ve never tried anything from Skims before, but I’ve heard amazing things.”

She started unboxing the package in which the nude colored Fits Everbody underwear she purchased came in.

“I hope I got the sizing right. It said to size up if you want to be comfortable, so I did that.”

Lily showed what the size she purchased, a large to extra-large, looked like.

“I’m really glad I sized up,” she said.

She shared that she hoped the part around the bikini line didn’t cut into her and the stomach band didn’t suffocate her.

She tried on the pink and orange dress she intended to wear to the wedding to give viewers a look at how it fit her without any shapewear.

“This is what it looks like just with a normal nude underwear on. You can kind of see the outline of my belly button. I feel like it would look nicer if it was kind of smoothed down,” Lily said.

She was excited to see if the shapewear worked, but before that she shared something interesting she noticed about it.

“I’ve just noticed that on the inside they’ve got this kind of grippy bit so that they don’t slip down when you bend over, when you sit down.

“And that’s actually amazing. Also, I like that the fabric isn’t a sweaty material.”

Upon putting the shapewear on, she shared her review.

“I worried they wouldn’t come high enough, but they actually come to just above my belly button which is great.

“I think it’s done its job. They were quite a challenge to get on. They do kind of cut in a little at the top. If this dress was tighter I don’t think it would work,” she said.

She added that thankfully, the shapewear didn’t cut into the bikini line area.

“I think I would have preferred it if the waistband wasn’t quite so tight, but it’s definitely going to do the job for the wedding this weekend,” the Skims fan said.

“So overall I’m pretty impressed,” she concluded.
