It’s a pretty nice gaff.

One millionaire homeowner in London has told a pretty, er, apt story about the former Conservative Prime Minister, David Cameron, and what he thought of his own party members.

While showing estate agent Lee Koffman around his £29million London house, John Griffin, multi-millionaire philanthropist and former owner of Addison Lee luxury taxi company, shared the anecdote.

Lee said the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom townhouse – decked with a private garden and a separate guest house – was worth ‘every penny’ of its multi-million pound price tag.

Not only is the interior fit for a queen, but the exterior of the Hanover Terrace house, built in 1892, boasts views over Regent Park’s boating and swan lake with a very luxurious balcony to admire it from.

I mean, we wouldn’t say no if someone handed it to us on a silver platter.

But someone actually did, and that someone was Mr Cameron; Conservative Prime Minister from 2010 to 2016, who turned down the offer of a party there.

Because when on tonight’s episode of Britain’s Most Expensive Houses, Lee commented, ‘I bet you’ve had some fabulous parties here, have you?’ John replied with the surprising tale.

‘Just a few,’ he began.

‘David Cameron, the well-known Prime Minister, was here visiting me and I asked him, would he like me to arrange a party of Conservative do-gooders,’ he told Lee, who let out a laugh at this.

But John continued: ‘And he said no. He said, “It’s too good for them.” So I thought that was quite nice.’

This anecdote comes just as the Partygate report verdict over Boris Johnson’s conduct during the Covid-19 pandemic was published.

It concluded that Mr Johnson – who was Prime Minister from 2019 until his resignation over the controversy last year – deliberately misled Parliament when he said lockdown rules had not been broken in Number 10.

Elsewhere in the episode, one couple were over the moon when their Shoreditch canal-side boathouse sold for a £350,000 profit at £1.1million.

That’s a two-bed, folks. Yep, time delete that RightMove app…
