Olympian Victoria Pendleton revealed that her twin brother Alex died after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

The Strictly Come Dancing star shared the devastating news with her Instagram followers where she shared a picture of the two along with a heartfelt statement.

She penned: ‘Alex Pendleton 24.09.80 – 22.06.23.

If you know me then you likely know my twin brother Alex, I just wanted to let you know that this morning Alex sadly passed away after an epic battle against an aggressive brain tumour. He will be painfully missed by many.’

She continued: ‘Rest in peace my kind, brave twinnie, you will forever be in our hearts.’

Friends of the cyclist paid their condolences, with presenter AJ Odudu commenting: ‘Oh I’m sorry Vic x.’
