WWE SmackDown has seen a number of changes based on official previews just hours before it got underway.

In one week’s time, the blue brand rolls into The O2 in London on the eve of Money In The Bank, and some matches were scrapped from the penultimate show as it got closer to going on air.

A match had been advertised pitting LA Knight against Butch and Santos Escobar as a preview for next weekend’s Ladder Match, but that didn’t end up happening.

Instead, Knight came out to face Escobar’s Latino World Order (LWO) teammate Rey Mysterio in singles action.

It worked out well for the outspoken superstar, who defeated the masked legend to secure a huge win and continued to build momentum before the men’s match, which also featured Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, Butch, Escobar and social media megastar Logan Paul.

After the bell, Knight even tried to unmask Mysterio until his teammate ran down to make the save.

I’ve been too damn nice. Too patient. Too naive. And @ShotziWWE is trying to take advantage of me!!!!!!!!!! ……. The Role Model WILL be in London. pic.twitter.com/vtfB2aEd7q

Elsewhere, Bayley had been scheduled to face Shotzi with the former’s spot in the women’s Money In the Bank Ladder Match on the line, which came about after Bayley’s Damage CTRL partner Iyo Sky accepted a challenge on her behalf.

Just three years before going on air, Bayley teased the clash on social media, vowing to still make it to the huge show at The O2.

Sharing a graphic promoting the bout, she tweeted: ‘I’ve been too damn nice. Too patient. Too naive. And @ShotziWWE is trying to take advantage of me!!!!!!!!!! ……. The Role Model WILL be in London. (sic)’

However, the bout is no longer listed on WWE’s official SmackDown preview online.

Meanwhile, a match between Cameron Grimes and Baron Corbin also featured in the preview piece until closer to showtime.

WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
