BBC Breakfast viewers were quick to spot a behind-the-scenes blunder when a crew member was caught on camera running in with a cup of tea.

Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt had been presenting Friday’s edition of the programme when the camera cut to weatherman Matt Taylor – or so they thought.

‘Let’s talk to Matt, let’s find out what’s happening with the weather, it’s misty there,’ Naga, 48, began.

The camera then cut to Matt presenting in front of the weather screen, as he began discussing the day’s forecast.

But very briefly, it appeared the wrong camera suddenly switched back to Naga and Charlie, showing a man creeping across the studio with a carefully-balanced cuppa on his script.

It appeared he was about to give Naga or her co-host a fresh brew, before a different angle picked up on Matt and his forecast again.

Viewers didn’t miss the moment though, with one writing: ‘I love it when you get a little insight behind the scenes. Always wondered how the @BBCBreakfast presenters survive when they get up so early.

‘A constant supply of tea or coffee is clearly one of the key things! Is it for @TVNaga01 or Charlie?’

Another wrote: ‘@BBCBreakfast#BBCBreakfast So that’s how tea is served on set !’

Noticing the way it was being served, someone else said: ‘Does the tea man on @BBCBreakfast not have a tray? Give him a tray, not the script.’

@BBCBreakfast @TVNaga01 morning, I hope the tea boy that we all saw bringing in refreshments gets a mention live on air! Maybe a big ‘Thank you’!

The BBC has been no stranger to blunders over recent weeks, after newsreader Lukwesa Burak not realising she’s still on air when relaxing with a ‘big stretch’ and technical issues leaving one studio in darkness.

Elsewhere, viewers spotted an awkward blunder in the background of Ben Brown’s News at One report, when a woman was caught taking a picture of the studio behind him.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC One.
