BBC Wimbledon fans have shared their support for Annabel Croft after she made her commentating return just weeks after her husband Mel Coleman’s death.

The former tennis player, 65, announced Coleman had died at the age of 60 shortly after being diagnosed with stage 3 stomach cancer in May, saying in a statement she was ‘heartbroken.’

The ex-British number one married the professional yachtsman and investment banker in 1992 and shared three children Charlie, Amber and Lilly with him.

This week, Annabel attended the world-famous London-based tennis tournament, during which she shared her expertise and commentary for the Line of Duty broadcaster.

BBC viewers were thrilled to see Annabel return to their screens, with one commenting she was doing ‘so remarkably well’ to be at Wimbledon after the loss of Coleman.

A third added: ‘This was brilliant! I was watching last night and laughing at this stage! You’re a breath of fresh air with your coverage and love your energy and love for tennis whatever the weather. How you keep all that tennis info in your head I don’t know! More of you & Annabel please!’
