There’s nothing fishy about this story (Picture: Metro.co.uk)

If a goldfish can defeat Malenia in Elden Ring, it’s time for you to fish out some determination and complete the game at last.

Everyone knows that Elden Ring stands among the most challenging games of the last several years, forcing average players to spend hours of practice and endure thousands of deaths just to reach the end.

With the speedrunning craze showing no signs of slowing down, we’ve witnessed some players achieve the unthinkable by not only completing the game in under three hours, but also without a single death to their name.

Now, a goldfish (yes, you read that right) could potentially join the ranks of victors after defeating Malenia, arguably the hardest boss in the game.

Up and coming Twitch streamer PointCrow is training his pet goldfish, named Tortellini, to play Elden Ring… and guess what? He’s absolutely smashing it.

Tortellini’s gaming escapades started just a few days back, and you won’t believe your eyes when you see the clip below. This little fishy prodigy has already nailed Malenia’s first phase with absolute ease.

PointCrow hasn’t had a chance to spill all the details on how Tortellini pulls off those spot-on moves in Elden Ring, but he did drop some hints during one of his recent streams.

‘Depending on where Tortellini is in the tank, he’ll press a button on a controller which will control Elden Ring,’ the streamer said.

While it might sound simple, getting Tortellini set up to play the game has been a real challenge, requiring multiple attempts – he’s just a goldfish after all.

Or is he? In fact, goldfish are a lot smarter than we think, and they certainly don’t have a three-second memory.

Believe it or not, scientists have even trained goldfish to operate a robotic car, steering it toward a vibrant mark on the wall that they could see through the glass.

Maybe that’s an idea for PointCrow and Tortellini to keep in mind for future streams…
