Come on Barbie let’s go after party

London is in full pink mode after the London premiere of Barbie but the afterparty saw some cast members opt for darker more sultry looks.

Margot Robbie couldn’t have been sweeter in her Barbie ‘Enchanted Evening’ replica gown at the premiere on July 12 in Leceister Square.

She and her cast mates have been going full Barbie pink for every event possible, which fans are absolutely adoring.

Post-premiere, however, the stars took the opportunity to let their hair down and opt for some outfits that forgo the fashion doll’s favourite colour.

After the cast stopped for a photocall under the pink-lit London Eye, some headed to celebrity haunt the Chiltern Firehouse in the city centre to enjoy the afterparty.

Margot wowed in a silky dress that might look more at home in a Bratz doll’s wardrobe at first glance, with a red corset top, mini skirt, and matching red accessories.

Designer Dilaria is known for corsetry and this is the furthest Margot has strayed from the iconic doll throughout the press tour.

While Dilaria did share a post from Barbie expert and stylist Jay Roberts, that compared the red look to 1962’s ‘Bubblecut Barbie’, fans were less convinced.

Bubblecut Barbie rocks a red swimsuit but the colour appears to be where the similarities end for this look.

Margot wasn’t the only one taking a break from the pink-heavy looks of the tour, with co-star America Ferrera also choosing to mirror Margot in a gorgeous red number.

After her sparkling black evening gown at the premiere, America glowed in a red structured dress with oversized shoulders and a waist-hugging fit.

Alexandra Shipp, another stunning Barbie, channelled Sandy from Grease in her halter-neck black leather-look jumpsuit with gold accessories.

The star had rocked a pink oversized suit and bedazzled butterfly bra to the premiere, calling herself ‘daddy’ on Instagram, so this body-hugging black number was a stark contrast.

Director Greta Gerwig was of course in attendance but stayed true to the pink theme as she arrived in a peachy pink glittering floor-length dress.

Not to be forgotten, the Kens also looked dapper as ever, with Ryan Gosling choosing to keep his mint green premiere suit on for the evening.

Ryan had the Kenergy dialled up in a pink carpet interview with journalist Amelia Dimoldenberg.

He described how to find your Ken, only to graciously pick up Amelia’s dropped cards and prove once again, he is the ultimate Ken.

Simu Li was spotted in his sleeveless double-breasted black suit, again opting for no outfit change.

Dua Lipa was one of the few Barbies who decided not to give fans a second outfit for the afterparty and honestly, we can’t blame her, her look was perfect.

The singer arrived at Firehouse in her multicoloured silver sparkling gown, which shimmered as she moved and fit her like a glove.

She paired with butterfly accessories and a chunky statement necklace, all from her own collection with Versace.

The look had the stamp of approval from Donatella Versace herself as she shared a picture of Dua and wrote: ‘You look breathtaking in our collection.’

Ashley Roberts also attended, leaning into the bubblegum pink aesthetic with a metallic pink mini skirt and jacket combination.

London went Barbie mad for the premiere with a Barbie Tardis (Barbis) appearing near Tower Bridge as well as several monuments being lit with a pink hue.

Barbie is set to hit cinemas on July 21, with fans across the world planning to get dolled up for the occasion.
