Lewis Hamilton Not Falling for Red Bull Mind Games Amidst Tense Verstappen Title Fight
Lewis Hamilton has achieved outstanding success with Mercedes. Despite facing stiff competition, the Briton has been unstoppable in F1, winning seven world titles. This season, his competition seems to be based more on psychology rather than performance.
Mercedes’ latest challenge this season is competing with Red Bull. The Austrian outfit hired five former employees of Mercedes last week to strengthen their engine division. This move could have a major psychological effect on the Brackley-based outfit. However, Hamilton isn’t game for such battles and only wants to focus on performing at his best.
Lewis Hamilton doesn’t want a “battle people like to have”
The Briton has set the standard for drivers aspiring to be future world champions. One thing that has aided his success is staying away from anything that could affect his mental preparedness. Hamilton believes that the current situation with Red Bull won’t affect him too much, and isn’t surprised to see Red Bull recruit the best.
The 36-year-old said, “I don’t have to focus on these things, I am really not about the whole psychological battle people like to have. It’s not something that I put any energy towards.
Without doubt every individual in our team is amazing, it’s not a surprise that everybody will want them.”
Hamilton also had praise for team principal Toto Wolff, calling him “the best ally.”
Have Red Bull bought a winning formula?
With new recruits from Mercedes, Red Bull have made a powerful statement. Team principal Christian Horner said, “We know that success will only be achieved by bringing in the best and brightest talent, by providing them with the right tools and by creating the right environment in which they can thrive.”
The battle between these two giants now shifts to Monaco.Even though Hamilton currently leads Max Verstappen by 14 points in the championship, the streets of Monaco have often suited Red Bull.
Will the Dutchman bring joy to the Austrian outfit? Or will Hamilton extend his lead at the top?
