David Walliams revealed he will be appearing on The Masked Dancer – but not as a contestant sadly.

The Britain’s Got Talent star had a stint as a guest judge on the upcoming series, which he revealed is set to air later this month.

Off the back of The Masked Singer, The Masked Dancer puts famous faces in outlandish costumes and gets them to dance, with a panel trying to guess who is hidden in each outfit.

The line-up has already been revealed with the likes of Beagle, Flamingo, Zip, Rubber Chicken and Knickerbocker Glory among the characters.

The 49-year-old said on Thursday’s episode of Lorraine that he had a blast filming the show.

When host Lorraine Kelly asked how he felt about viewers speculating he might have been Blob from The Masked Singer, David said: ‘I can’t dance or sing. Not much I can do! But I did it as a guest judge and it’s such a lovely show.

‘I think it’s on over half term where Britain’s Got Talent would normally be but we’ve got no series of Britain’s Got Talent this year.’

The judges casting an eye over all the fancy footwork are Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse – stepping in for Rita Ora – talk show host Jonathan Ross, presenter Davina McCall and comedian Mo Gilligan, who replaced actor Ken Jeong on The Masked Singer.

Comedian Joel Dommett is back on hosting duties.

The Masked Singer turned out to be a surprise hit last year and has seen the likes of Sophie Ellis Bextor, Nicola Roberts, Aston Merrygold and Joss Stone take part.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
