Dionne Warwick has laughed off bizarre rumours of her death like a true queen, and we’re absolutely not worthy.
The That’s What Friends Are For singer, 80, proved she’s still ‘alive and kicking’ after a YouTube video appeared to claim that she had died.
Things kicked off when a Twitter user, known as @james_mcavoys, shared a screenshot of a clip from the platform, which read: ‘The life and sad ending of Dionne Warwick.
‘According to YouTube @dionnewarwick is dead,’ the fan in question tweeted, tagging the music icon in their post.
Quoting the tweet, Dionne very quickly put a stop to the gossip, simply penning: ‘Oh no!’
To halt any further rumours in their tracks, she went one step further and offered ‘proof of life’ in the form of a video, before bidding us all ‘goodnight from a very alive Dionne Warwick’.
‘I just want you to know I am alive and kicking,’ she began the clip, before bursting into laughter.
‘Now this is the second time y’all done made me dead which I think is not very nice.
‘As you can see, I am totally alive, but thank you for caring enough to have sorrow for me.
‘Anyway, worry not, Dionne Warwick is definitely alive. And I love all of y’all. Believe me. Bye.’
Fans were living for her hilarious reply, and instantly flooded the comments with praise for the response.
‘“Now this is the second time y’all done made me dead.” Glad you’re doing well and still have that lovely sense of humour,’ a follower penned.
‘Thank you Ms. Warwick for replying to the world – rumours travel like wild fires the old school way- Twitter is more like “warp speed ahead”,’ another agreed.
‘Your eyes twinkle, your smile is radiant and your cheekbones are sculptured…NATURALLY I might add,’ a Twitter user said.
‘Can’t get no more ALIVE than that! Love you, Ms. Dionne. A fan since “Any One Who Had A Heart” #dionnewarwick is alive.’
‘You’re alive and positively glowing,’ another agreed. ‘Have a great night, gorgeous xoxo.’
