Channel 4 star Guy Martin got shot, kidnapped and tortured during filming for his new show.

The 41-year-old daredevil, who used to be a motorcycle racer and heavy vehicle mechanic before turning to presenting, has become known for his death defying stunts over the years, but this could be his scariest yet.

Guy was filming in Colombia for his latest programme Our Guy In Colombia and found himself facing a horrifying drug cartel test during a bid to prove the country had move to it than its drug industry.

He was shocked by the level of violence he encouraged during his travels, and at one point he visits body armour company MC Armor.

He tries on the bulletproof clothing and even gets shot in the stomach to make sure it works, as reported by the Mirror.

‘I’ve never been shot. Maybe buggering about with pellet guns, and mucking about, yes. But not proper ammunition. They are not messing about here,’ he said.

Teasing the person pulling the trigger, he quipped: ‘It’s your idea. So if I did, it’s your fault.’

Amazingly, he suffered no injuries and even took the crushed bullet back with him as a keepsake from the trip.

He joked: ‘Thank you, that was amazing. Come to Colombia and get shot.’

Elsewhere in the documentary, he noted two people get kidnapped every week in the country, and over 12,000 people are murdered each year.

Guy also received the same intense training Colombian politicians need to take on in case they get kidnapped, and after 40 seconds in the torture chamber he was begging the ‘gunmen’ to stop.

Still, Guy would happily return (Picture: Channel 4)

He pointed out he only went through a ‘snippet’ of what other people deal with in the country (Picture: Channel 4)

‘I’ve heard of water-boarding before. You know, you’ve got a mask and you’re chucking water at them, but you’re not drowning,’ he said, confessing that he has a new perspective now.

He added: ‘That’s what I used to think. Not now.’

The broadcaster noted that despite the pain and terror he went through, he has only experienced a ‘tiny snippet’ of what people go through in the country.

He explained: ‘You need that air. I am drowning and I am f***ing talking – what do you want to know? But I’ve still only had a small, tiny, tiny snippet of Colombian violence.’

In other scenes in the documentary, he tried the liquid form of cocaine, joined police on drug raids and was given a close look at the extreme poverty levels.

However, Guy insisted he had ‘the wrong idea’ about Colombia, and would happily return again in the future despite everything he went through for the show.

‘I came here with completely the wrong idea,’ he said. ‘So 100 per cent I’ll be back – no question.’

Our Guy In Colombia is coming to Channel 4 on July 23.
