After the loss of Paul Cattermole, fans were unsure if S Club would embark on their tour let alone release music but the group have announced a tribute song.

Cattermole died in April this year of sudden heart-related issues at age 46, devastating his bandmates and fans.

The group, who had hits in the 00s with Reach and S Club Party, had announced a reunion tour just two months prior with tickets selling out fast.

S Club rebranded their reunion as the ‘Good Times Tour’ in honour of Cattermole and still plan to embark on the tour later this year, although Hannah Spearritt will not join.

In honour of Cattermole, the band will also release a new single for the first time since Seeing Double hit the charts in 2002.

The song is called These Are The Days and will be available to fans this week, complete with a touching music video of the bandmates reminiscing about their late friend.

S Club, made up of Rachel Stevens, Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh, Jon Lee and Tina Barrett, will discuss Cattermole and their memories while looking back at pictures for the video.

‘It didn’t look like S Club were ever going to make music again but Paul’s tragic passing has brought them closer than ever. They have bonded in their grief,’ a source told The Sun.

Earlier this month the group shared behind-the-scenes clips of themselves back in the studio and it looked like they were having fun recording together again.

They added that the single was written by the team behind many of the group’s number ones so fans would instantly recognise it at S Club.

The source continued: ‘It sounds like a classic which will slot right in with their old tunes.

‘It is about looking back at what an amazing man Paul was and the video was extremely emotional for them all. It celebrates his life and the amazing career S Club have had.’

S Club’s tour will start in October, with the band performing as a five-piece after Cattermole’s ex Hannah decided to step away from the spotlight.

Despite the grief, Bradley told Metro.co.uk that he was really looking forward to the tour and excited to introduce their music to a younger generation.

He shared: ‘I can’t say too much because it’s a little bit under wraps at the moment – but I can tell you that it’s gonna be epic.

‘Rehearsals are underway. We are coming up with some great ideas and we’re gonna put in a lot of hard work to make this an amazing tour.’

S Club’s new single will be out on Wednesday.
