Kanye West’s Twitter account has returned.

The rapper, 46, was first suspended from the social media platform in November 2022, having been restricted for tweeting an antisemitic message.

After returning to Elon Musk’s platform, he was suspended again in December 2022 after sharing an image of a swastika blended with a star of David.

But, his account now looks to be back up and running, although the musician – known as Ye – is yet to tweet.

His return comes after Musk admitted he ‘tried’ to keep West’s account active.

Musk tweeted: ‘I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.’

The Twitter/X owner previously described his approach to content moderation as: ‘If in doubt, let the speech exist.’

Following his antisemitic comments on both Twitter and Instagram, West’s career plumeted in other aspects.

Adidas said it was ending production of the Yeezy-branded products, a fashion collaboration with West, with ‘immediate effect,’ describing his remarks as ‘unacceptable, hateful and dangerous.’

This isn’t the first time Musk has reinstated a controversial Twitter account.

Late last year, Donald Trump was also reinstated on Twitter following a poll from Musk.

It reversed a ban that kept the former US President off his favourite social media platform in the wake of the deadly riot on January 6, 2021.

Musk made the announcement after holding a vote asking Twitter users to click ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on whether Trump should be allowed back.

The ‘yes’ vote won with 51.8%.

Reps for Kanye West and Twitter have been contacted for comment.
