Jake Paul has claimed his dad Greg was physically abusive whilst he was a youngster.

The 26-year-old alleged that Greg would ‘slap the s**t out of me’ in a Netflix documentary about his life entitled Untold: Jake Paul the Problem Child.

‘Our parents were really strict and mainly my dad — it was always Logan and I against him,’ Jake recalled.

‘My dad would slap the s**t out of me. I don’t resent it. I’m understanding of why he did that. That’s all he knew.

‘He always said, “Life’s not easy, life’s not fair”.’

His older brother Logan, 28, shared his own viewpoint: ‘Jake may throw around the word “abusive.” I prefer not quite legal.’

He also added that their father was ‘intense’ and ‘a menace’.

Greg denied the allegations and gave his version of events to the camera.

‘I never laid hands on my kids.

‘And I did tell him, I said, “Jake, I did pick you up and throw you on a couch couple of times.” [He said], “Well, I was afraid of you.” I’m like, “That’s what the f**k dads are supposed to do”.’

Despite the claims, both Jake and Logan give credit to their dad for inspiring them to begin their careers.

‘He was so hard and so tough on us that my brother and I’s imaginations really started to flare up,’ explained Jake.

‘So one day we get a camera, and we just start filming our lives.’

Logan believes how their dad allegedly treated them has had a detrimental effect on his relationship with Jake.

‘Jake is still traumatised to this day about how my dad treated him. And they still don’t get along like they should.’

The documentary, which was released on August 1, covers Jake’s journey from online prankster to boxer.

Jake, who has 20 million YouTube subscribers and over 23 million Instagram followers, had an unbeaten record after six boxing matches. His bout with Tommy Fury brought his winning streak to an end.

Mental health issues will also be explored in the one-hour and 12 minutes programme. Logan labels Jake ’emotionally unpredictable and volatile’ and recalls being ‘legitimately concerned that Jake was going to kill himself’.
