Loki on Disney Plus theories: What’s the meaning behind cartoon clock on poster for Marvel series?
The release of new Marvel series Loki on Disney Plus is on the horizon, with Tom Hiddleston returning to reprise the role of everyone’s favourite trickster.
Following the success of WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, fans of the MCU can’t wait to see what Loki will have in store, which will follow the Asgardian as he is taken in by an organisation called the Time Variance Authority (TVA).
In a poster unveiled for the show, fans spotted a curious looking cartoon clock next to Loki, prompting many to speculate what it could possibly signify.
So is the clock just a harmless cartoon… or is there a more significant meaning behind it?
What’s the meaning behind the cartoon clock?
A new poster for Loki was recently released online, showing the titular character standing alongside Owen Wilson’s Mobius M Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Ravonna Lexus Renslayer and Wunmi Mosaku’s Hunter B-15.
In the lower left section of the poster, a brown cartoon clock is seen striking a gleeful pose, smiling while donning Mickey Mouse-esque white gloves and matching shoes.
Following the release of the poster, numerous fans questioned the identity of the clock and whether the anthropomorphic gadget could have a significant impact on the plot of the series.
It’s believed that the clock is a mascot for the TVA, named Miss Minutes.
In fact, Miss Minutes appeared in the trailer for Loki, showing up on a TV screen and wagging a finger as Loki is apprehended by the organisation.
Whether Miss Minutes will play a key role in the story remains to be seen. But we’d expect the clock is an indication of the wonderfully weird direction the series is going to venture into.
When does the Loki series come out on Disney Plus?
Loki is premiering on Disney Plus on Wednesday June 9, with episodes being released on a weekly basis.
The release date for Loki was originally set for Friday June 11.
However, given the God of Mischief’s wily ways, it was later announced that the launch date had been moved to two days earlier than previously stated.
How many episodes are there?
There will be six episodes of Loki in total on Disney Plus, the same number of episodes that there were for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
WandaVision, on the other hand, had nine episodes.
Loki is set to premiere on Wednesday June 9 on Disney Plus.
