I tried on England Lionesses M&S range – combo outfit is perfect for a night out but the bomber jacket wasn’t flattering
THE LIONESSES may have suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Spain at the Women’s World Cup, but at least their fashion game is strong.
With M&S being the official tailor for the England Senior Women’s team, one woman couldn’t help but try on the range and share her thoughts.

And though some were perfect for a night out or day in the office, others were more of a flop.
M&S say the womenswear range aims to “challenge the traditional idea of power dressing” as it features everything from waistcoats to bomber jackets.
With 5-star reviews, one person said they “love this range so so much”.
But Dianne Bourne, the Diary Editor at Manchester Evening News, decided to put it to the test herself.
The first thing the size 16 editor tried on was the £89 relaxed bomber jacket, which comes in both a navy blue colour and ivory.
This is the piece most people following the sport will have seen on their screens as England boss Sarina Wiegman has worn the jacket to most of the games.
Although it looks great on Sarina, Dianne confessed: “But I’m not convinced it naturally fits with my normal sort of style or figure”.
In fact, one of her colleagues said it made her look like she got “cold down the pub and nicked it from a bloke”.
Dianne went on to share that it felt “puffy” around her arms, so going in to try it on first would help with the sizing.
Next, she had a go at styling the waistcoat and trousers combination, which was her favourite.
While the waistcoat is £49.50, the zip detail straight leg trousers can be bought for £55 from the retailer.
“I felt like this combo would work well for both workwear and for a night out too,” she explained.
And, what’s more is that she got two compliments from her colleagues, who said she looked very smart.
While Dianne admitted that her days of wearing crop tops are “long gone”, she was still able to style the £19.50 top with a pair of high-waist trousers.
The blonde beauty said that it had a “flattering cut on the arms” and added that the material was soft, too.
And the last piece she tried on was the satin shirt, which sells for £29.50, and features white buttons.
“I went a size down in the hope it would fit and was actually pretty pleased with how it looked so you might need to size down too in this one,” she explained.
Dianne added that it was one her favourite pieces in the entire range, which made her feel and look luxurious.
And the best part? It doesn’t gape over your boobs – making it the ultimate shirt.
