Gingham is back! Zara McDermott to Jessica Wright go wild for the trend & here’s how to get the look from just £2

NO MATTER what the style is, it will always eventually go out of fashion and it will always eventually come back round.

Many people will remember gingham from their primary school days when their mum would dig out the “summer uniform” after Easter and tights would be replaced by socks with frills.

Well, the stars of today are embracing the school uniform of yesterday and we predict that tomorrow, you’ll be rushing out to try the trend too.

That’s right – the childish check is back with a new, more grown-up edge and it is just the summer style your wardrobe is craving.

Not sure how to wear the pretty pastels? Never fear – the likes of Zara McDermott, Jessica Wright and Holly Willoughby are on hand to be your guide.

So let’s take the tour starting with Towie treasure Jess Wright, who has opted to put a cheeky check crop with a pair of high waisted jeans AND she gets extra points for the adorable matching bag.

Made In Chelsea’s Louise Thompson went nursery-rhyme chic with this cutesy number[/caption]

Next up Love Island lovely Zara McDermott didn’t hold back, opting for a full on green gingham co-ord set with a pretty tie detail at the back.

We can inform you that this eye-catching number is from Primark but frustratingly is not one of the products listed on their website so it’s a forage in store situation.

Not to be outdone by her brother’s beau, Made In Chelsea’s Louise Thompson matched her puff sleeve summer dress with an equally whimsical powder-pink cocktail while hanging out in the garden.

Another celeb who chose to showcase the style in their garden (because quite frankly, where else have we been able to go?) is Corrie’s Brooke Vincent.

Brooke covered her baby bump with a pair of wide-leg pregnancy trousers and a matching shirt.

She was also, incidentally, spotted sporting a summer dress in the same fabric – yes that’s also in her In The Style range. Some solid marketing there from Brooke.

Bringing a bit more heat with her gingham contribution is Olivia Buckland who has gone for the lowest gingham fabric to skin ratio option with a fiery red bikini.

Olivia Bowden has to steady herself against a wall because she is blown away by the pure heat emanating from the fire she’s bringing with this red bikini[/caption]

The stunner demonstrated her eye for detail by completing the ensemble with matching red nails compliment the outfit.

But if you’re worried it’s all cropped-this and teenie-weenie-bikini-that then don’t be, because you can rely on Holly Willoughby to model a more demure example of the summer trend.

In a dress far closer to our school days (than Olivia’s bikini at least) Holly rocks a yellow check midi shirt dress with half sleeve sealed with a pretty tie.

Holly’s dress is only matched in sunshine by her glowing smile and her radiant hair (presumably a lockdown home dye kit job)[/caption]

To be fair, if our school uniform had looked like this, I’m sure a lot of us would have put up far less of a fuss. She just needs the frilly socks and she’ll be our hero.

Who are we kidding? Holly’s always our hero. Socks or no socks.

If you want to try out the style, you don’t have to look far. All your favourite stores and online retailers have “checked in” to the trend.

If budget friendly is your preference, we suggest taking a look in Primark where their pretty pastel range starts at just two quid.

Recently some of the trends taking off among the stars have been a little more saucy.

Remember the risky trend which sees stars like Megan Barton Hanson and Chloe Ferry barely covering their boobs in extreme cutaway tops?

How about the bizarre and bold ‘upside down’ bikini trend that Kourtney Kardashian & Kylie Jenner love – would YOU try it?

Plus, Forget Coleen Rooney and Victoria Beckham… it’s time to meet the glam NEW England WAGs.
