How to watch Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023 tonight-GameCentral-Entertainment – Metro

The video game summer preview season officially comes to an end today, as the Gamescom ONL livestream prepares to reveal its secrets.

Before the pandemic, the Gamescom fan event in Germany was billed not only as the European equivalent to E3 but the second biggest video game expo in the world.

As with many things, it’s hard to tell exactly what it is now, as while it’s now open to the public again there are many publishers – most notably Sony – that don’t attend any more or only have a token presence.

By the end of this week, we’ll have an idea of how much Gamescom is back to its old self but it’s very difficult to know what to expect from Opening Night Live, the self-explanatory preview event organised by The Games Awards host Geoff Keighley.

In previous years Gamescom ONL has worked very much like a miniature version of The Game Awards, with important new announcements and trailers often debuting during its two-hour running time.

Keighley has already warned that tonight will not see that much in the way of brand new games and will instead concentrate on new looks at previously announced ones. But considering one of the event’s recent highlights was the first gameplay trailer for Elden Ring that still leaves plenty of room for excitement.

You can make your own guesses as to what this year’s equivalents might be but there are already rumours of a first look at S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, more on Alan Wake 2 and Black Myth: Wukong, and perhaps an announcement from Keighley’s pal Hideo Kojima.

When does Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023 start?

To watch the event just use the YouTube video above, although it’ll also be shown via Twitch, Twitter, and others.

The pre-show begins at 6.30pm BST, while the event itself starts at 7pm BST. It’s expected to last around two hours but there’s no official end time.
