Bottas Explains Why Mercedes’ W12 Is His Favorite F1 Car Despite Current Struggles

Valtteri Bottas has had a fairly successful career in F1. After a solid first few seasons with Williams, he got the call up to Mercedes in 2017, following Nico Rosberg’s retirement after winning the 2016 world championship. Since then, Bottas has been consistent in fighting for pole positions and race wins. With the best car underneath him, he has been a great asset to the team.

Recently, the Finn took part in an ongoing trend in F1. Today, teams take questions from kids across the globe and have their drivers answer them. Bottas answered several questions, including one about his favorite racing car.

When asked about his favorite racing car, Bottas named the current 2021 challenger as his favorite. The Finn also talked about how F1 cars are developing year after year.

Bottas said, My favorite racing car, I would say, is the current one.

“You know, the cars are racing Formula One, they keep evolving, developing year after year and they keep getting better, you know. They keep getting fine-tuned with the handling of the car, the engine drivability, everything.”
