Mercedes Spotted Using Rival F1 Team’s Technology at Their Brackley Base

Recently, the Mercedes F1 team offered fans a sneak peek into their F1 factory. While the video takes viewers through the entire establishment, from the reception to the simulator, there was something in the video no one expected to see.

A couple of minutes into the video, a few eagle-eyed viewers spotted a Haas logo. So, is there a top-secret Haas-Mercedes partnership no one knows about?

Well, no, this was not a ‘secret’ partnership between two rival F1 teams. In fact, the Haas Automation company manufactures lower-cost machine tools and specialized accessory tooling.

It is clear that the Mercedes team is one of the customers and is using the machines in the factory. All in all, it was an extremely interesting tour of the factory. It also provided plenty of insight into what goes into making Mercedes so successful. This just goes to show that the German giants have been very serious about their F1 endeavors.

In addition to that, it also proves that it is not just the driver and the crew at the track, who work hard. The Brackley team has a lot of personnel who work behind the scenes to produce dominant cars every year.

The Mercedes team is preparing for the next F1 race

In the coming weekend, the reigning Formula One champions will be in Monte Carlo. The Principality is not a particularly happy hunting ground for the team. Although they have a few wins at the street circuit, Monaco does not rely on power. Instead, it depends on high downforce.

Moreover, the Monte Carlo street circuit is a low degradation track. In other words, this will be a battle that will be won on strategy.

While it is extremely difficult to overtake at the track, it is not impossible. Nevertheless, a lot of emphases is placed on qualifying, as starting from the front row means that half the battle is won already. Whoever gets the better start and executes their strategy better will be ultimately rewarded for their fine efforts.
