One of the most hotly anticipated games of the year, Starfield is now available to play on Xbox and PC.

The game – coined Skyrim in space – is Bethesda’s first original game in years and allows players to journey out into the far reaches of the Milky Way with its open-world gameplay.

As players start to get to grips with the mechanics of the game, including everything from lockpicking to piloting a spacecraft or even turning on a flashlight, many fans are keen to know just how expansive this new game is.

So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at Starfield’s max level cap as players blast off on their Starfield adventures…

What is the max level cap on Starfield?

Well, as it turns out – there isn’t a max level cap on Starfield.

That means there is no limit to how much players can level up as they embark on their campaign in the RPG.

The expansive game is expected to take over 100 hours to complete – depending on how leisurely players explore the many planets and systems contained within it.

During that time players will be able to keep upgrading their character, gaining new abilities as they travel through the galaxies and planets.

This is nothing new for Batheseda, as there is also no max level cap in their Elder Scrolls game Skyrim and Fallout 4.

However, some have discovered that those games do indeed have a hidden level cap of around 65,000 – although it would take hours upon hours to actually reach that high of a level.

Players can level up infinitely if they continue to play the game and earn XP.

You can gain XP and level up by doing the following:

Visiting new locations

Defeating creatures and enemies

Completing quests and missions

Passing Speech Checks

Using Skills or Weapons

Joining Factions

Lockpicking

Each planet or system also has a suggested level that players should reach before they enter it.

If a player fancies their chances and visits a planet with a too-high-level zone compared to their character, they may be unable to kill enemies or survive environmental dangers.
