Someone has let the cat out of the bag and revealed the Strictly Come Dancing pairings before its official launch.

The BBC will announce the partnerships during the first show on Saturday September 23 but a social media user, who has previously spoiled the line-up, has ruined all the fun.

To protect the show, we won’t be spilling who is paired with who, but the reveal has sparked some backlash with a social media user writing: ‘Wish this thing never existed – we wanna wait until the show.’

Others remarked the partnerships were ‘interesting’ while the ‘benching’ of aprofessional dancer, who is apparently not in the 2023 series, led to an outpouring of disappointment.

The Strictly ‘mole’, whose identity has been revealed as David Thorp, has been previously slammed by the show’s stars, including judge Anton Du Beke who appeared on Loose Women pleading with the ‘super leaker’ to ‘please stop’.

According to reports, Strictly bosses have been trying to work out which member from the production team is supplying the information to Thorp and various Strictly spoiler pages.

This particular ‘mole’ though claims he doesn’t have a single source and often audience members will message in the results which are filmed on a Saturday night immediately after the live show.

He confirmed he was earning revenues from the spoiler account, although refused to specify the exact amount, and has previously defended leaking information about the show.

‘I don’t put the results for everyone to see and they have to search for my site to find out the results,’ Thorp told MailOnline.

‘There is an appetite from people who want to know the results before Sunday.

‘It could be argued that the BBC is to blame for recording something which is of massive interest the day before.’

This year the Strictly line-up is newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy, ex-tennis player Annabel Croft, actor Nigel Harman, EastEnder Bobby Brazier, Paralympian Jody Cundy, former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach, comedian Les Dennis and actress Amanda Abbington.

Radio host Nikita Kanda, Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas, Love Island star Zara McDermott, Irish TV presenter Angela Scanlon, Bad Education’s Layton Williams, comedian Eddie Kadi and TV legend Angela Rippon will also take to the dance floor.

They will be attempting to wow judges Craig Revel Horwood, Anton du Beke, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse with their fox trot and quick step skills to take home the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 returns on Saturday September 23 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
