How did Josh Taylor start supporting Hibernian FC?

The 17-0 boxer is an ardent supporter of the ‘Hibs.’ Hibernian FC is a professional soccer team in Taylor’s hometown of Edinburg. They play in the highest division in Scotland, i.e., the Scottish Premier League. And this season, Taylor’s team finished third in the standings.

‘The Tartan Tornado’ has been a fan of the team since he was a young boy and even explained how it started. He spoke to Hibernian FC’s YouTube channel and said, “I’d never been to a game before. And my cousin and aunty used to stay over the back, in Castle Park.

“And when Hibs games were on, we used to jump over the park, and there used to be a field over the back of the cowshed that was empty. We used to run over the field, and jump the fence and sneak into the cowshed and watch the games.”

Josh Taylor’s return to the club

The comments from Taylor showed how supporting ‘Hibs’ started very early, when he could not even afford to go to the stadium. However, things have changed drastically since the champion’s early days as a supporter.

In 2019, Taylor made a hero’s return to his beloved club and showed off his world titles to the fans. The champion described it as an incredible feeling and has even said it would be a dream to defend his undisputed world titles at Easter Road.

In addition, Taylor’s team is playing a cup final the same day he will face Ramirez in the ring. Therefore, if all goes well, Taylor has promised a huge celebration back in Scotland with the Hibernian FC fans.
