Ruth Langsford revealed she is worried about not being around during key moments of her son Jack’s life during today’s Loose Women.

The topic came up when today’s panel – also made up of Janet Street-Porter, Coleen Nolan, Kelle Bryan – discussed Naomi Campbell becoming a mother at the age of 50.

Yesterday the supermodel revealed the news to the world, sharing photos of her daughter’s feet to social media.

Even though Ruth commended Naomi for becoming a mum, she shared her own concerns with having a child in your 40s or 50s.

‘I had Jack when I was 42, eight years younger than [Naomi] is now and it wasn’t at all about that age, I was perfectly happy at 42, at the school gates I never used to think “Oh gosh I’m that older mother”, I think it’s more about the future,’ she explained.

Even though Ruth was happy with the age she had her son, her concern now is that she won’t be alive to see important milestones.

‘I think, “Will I see Jack do this, will I still be here?” It sounds a bit morbid but I do think, “Will I see those stages in his life?”

‘And I’m a little bit jealous of friends of mine who had children younger who are all becoming grandparents. I’m going to have to wait so long.’

Janet wasn’t having any of it, as she said: ‘I think that’s morbid. Honestly Ruth, women are living longer than ever, we’re healthier than ever.’

‘You’re going to live to 100, you’ve got to have that mindset.’

Jack is the only child of Eamonn Holmes and Ruth.

This is Naomi’s first child, and vowed that there is ‘no greater love’ on Twitter yesterday.

She blessed us all with a shot of her clutching her baby girl’s tiny feet in her hands.

‘A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life,’ she captioned the upload.

‘There are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.’

Naomi has yet to reveal her baby girl’s name, and has not shared a photo of her face.

Loose Women airs Weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm.
