Shinsuke Nakamura Believes Kota Ibushi Will Grow Bigger Than NJPW Icon Kazukicha Okada

Shinsuke Nakamura is a man of few words. But when he speaks, he makes sure he’s right on the money. Well, Nakamura hasn’t cut a promo in recent memory, then why are we saying this? Because the ‘King of Strong Style’ wasn’t holding back on speaking his heart out on Renee Paquette’s podcast.

Shinsuke Nakamura thinks Kota Ibushi is the next big deal

The ‘King of Strong Style’ recently joined Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette. During the show, Renee asked Nakamura if he still watched New Japan Pro Wrestling.

He immediately said he does as there are a lot of friends there. She then asked him who he thought would be the next big star in NJPW.

Nakamura didn’t think much and instantly said, “I think still [Kazuchika] Okada is the one. Okada and now, Kota Ibushi. He is gonna be a little more bigger I think. Finally, he is trying to show his responsibility.”

There you go. That’s what what we were talking about. Shinsuke Nakamura, right on the money with this one. There is no doubt Kota Ibushi is on his way to becoming one of Japan’s biggest wrestling stars.

Ibushi has really grown and gained significant momentum in the last few years. And if he continues, he will only become a bigger icon.

‘King of Strong Style’ vs ‘The Beast Incarnate?’

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion didn’t just reveal the ‘Next Big Thing’, he also spoke about the former ‘Next Big Thing’ Brock Lesnar.

Nakamura was asked if he’d want a rematch against Lesnar in WWE, to which he said, “If I have the opportunity, of course, I want.”

Renee Paquette also touched upon another subject. She asked Nakamura what was the feeling inside him and the NJPW locker room when Lesnar refused to return the IWGP Heavyweight Championship after not wanting to defend it. He didn’t say much, but only one word was enough, “Unprofessional.”

Shinsuke Nakamura and Brock Lesnar clashed at WrestleKingdom II where Lesnar defeated Nak to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

Like Nakamura said, if he gets a chance, he will fight Lesnar. And we honestly hope he does get a chance. Because this contest will be an exciting one to watch.
