Paddy McGuinness was forced to leave Channel 4 show Don’t Look Down for SU2C due to ‘co-parenting’ issues.
The former Take Me Out presenter, 50, who shares three children, Penelope and Leo, ten, and Felicity, seven, with his ex-wife Christine McGuinness, 35, is among the celebrities taking on terrifying challenges to raise money for charity.
But Paddy, who split from Christine after 11 years of marriage, was forced to cut his time short on Tuesday’s episode to take over caring responsibilities for their children.
Before leaving the Austrian training camp of the hit show, the Phoenix Nights star told the group: ‘Unfortunately today I’ve got to go home and I might not be back for at least a week. Co-parenting… We’ve no one at all to help us with the kids.’
He added: ‘With our children, they need me or Christine there or people who are in our support network. I’ll have a hell of a lot of catching up to do when I get back.

‘I’m gutted because the guys will be 10 metres up in the air and it will feel like starting again but there’s just nothing I can do about it.’
Paddy wasn’t the only celebrity forced to make a shock exit from Don’t Look Down, with Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard retiring from training after sustaining an injury to her kidney.
Breaking the news to her teammates, Beverley said: ‘I’m going to try not to cry… At some point, I damaged my kidney and I’ve seen a doctor and I can’t wear a harness, I can’t do any sport at the moment and I’ve got to go.’

She added: ‘I am broken-hearted, I was loving it. I don’t want to go, I so badly don’t want to go…’
Beverley’s devastated teammates offered her support, among them Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton who told the actress: ‘You’re so brave, you just get up there and do it.
‘If you were healthy, you would have 100% achieved this. There’s no doubt in my mind because you’re so brave.’

In an earlier episode of Don’t Look Down, Paddy and fellow celeb Kimberly Wyatt, 41, were dangled 1,000ft off Penken Mountain in Austria.
Disaster nearly struck when Paddy lost his footing and nearly slipped over the cliff edge, but fortunately, he was wearing very robust harnesses.
