Marks & Spencer employee shares insider secrets on how to nab cheap lingerie

A WHOPPING one in three women are currently walking around in Marks & Spencer’s lingerie.

And it’s no surprise, considering the retailer has been producing comfy-but-classy bras for over 60 years.

M&S sold a whopping 28 million bras last year – and it’s all thanks to that iconic qualityM&S

It may seem counterintuitive to go upmarket amid the cost of living crisis, but there’s plenty of ways you can keep the cost of your lingerie down while still getting that famous M&S quality.

“Lingerie is super important to M&S customers,” Anna from the retailer’s Clothing & Home Marketing team said on ITV’s documentary, Inside M&S.

“Women have bought their lingerie from us for years and years, decades and decades.”

She added that there’s “a lot of pressure” on the retailer due to lots of cheaper lingerie alternatives on the market, such as Shein.

Anna revealed that M&S does sell bras and knickers at a cheap price point – you just need to know how to spot it.

For cheaper lingerie, you need to look for non-M&S brands.

And the cheapest of the bunch is B by Boutique.

You can nab B by Boutique bras for as cheap as £12, while knickers start at £5.

That means a whole set will set you back a cool £17 – and you’ll still be getting that iconic Sparks quality.

Even though the products aren’t designed or manufactured in-house, Anna assured that the process for selling third-party lingerie is rigorous to maintain M&S’ high standards.

“The B by Boutique collection brings you playful, confident, fun and accessible lingerie, inspired by nineties shapes and bold block colours,” bosses said.

“Brighten up your top drawer with crop tops, high-cut knickers and body suits in standout shades.

“Comfy, contrasting fabrics, including delicate lace, meet contemporary details with pretty finishing in sets that elevate the everyday.

“Discover affordable pieces with effortless style in flattering, fashionable fits.”

Since the Inside M&S documentary series was filmed last year, the retailer has released even cheaper in-house lingerie designs as part of its Collection range.

Among these is Lace Wired Push-Up Bras, Lace Padded Plunge Wired Bras and Lace Trim Padded Full Cup Bra for just £10 each.
