This party season it’s all about the accessories including the must-have ‘Little-Red-Shoe’

NOT sure what to wear to that Christmas party? Step forward the Little Red Shoes.

This accessory will save you a fortune by adding a Christmas spin to any old thing you have lying about in your wardrobe.

You have heard of the LBD (Little Black Dress) but how about the LRS (Little Red Shoes)?

Whether you’re channelling quiet luxury with a cream and red palette like our Fashion Editor Clemmie, giving them a retro Seventies spin like Deputy Fashion Editor Abby, playing it cool with this season’s Adidas red trainers like Fashion Assistant Emily or going for all-out all-over red glamour like Celebrity Style Editor Nana, red shoes will 100 per cent make your look feel festive.

And if you can’t find a pair of shoes that suits, go for slick patent berry-red boots like Fashion Director Tracey.

Now, you just need a dance floor to show them off on!

We’re not even in peak Christmas party mode yet and already my feet have had enough of heels.

But with many more hours of standing and occasional terrible dancing to go, I’m embracing flats.

I’m in love with these velvet flat Mary Janes, which have made a huge comeback this season.

Just looking at them makes me feel Christmassy.

I’ll be wearing them in full flat comfort with other comfy separates like this knitted co-ord from Massimo Dutti, paired with matching accessories that still give this look the festive feels.

Alternatively, I love a pop of red with black.

So I’ll also wear some cropped flared trousers, with an embellished black knit, along with some sheer pop socks with my shoes matching my bold, red lippy.

I’m really enjoying adding a new pop of colour to my typically neutral wardrobe and red is 100% the way forward – it seems to go with almost everything!

Although I do love to dress up for an occasion, sometimes putting comfort first is key… and that means flats!

Dressing up trainers can seem a difficult task, but I think I’ve nailed it.

These Adidas Spezials are red-hot and trending everywhere at the moment. I’ve paired them with a black puff sleeve dress, a boucle bag and some fun metallic socks to create an outfit perfect for whizzing out to a party or dinner straight from the office.

My feet don’t last long when I’m in heels, so if I’m going to wear any it has to have a platform to give my ankles some added support.

I love these bow heels from Monsoon. A pop of red in an otherwise all dark outfit, they instantly make my look more fun. Plus they scream festive as they tick all the boxes: red, velvet and bows – what’s not to love?

Because I want the shoes to be the focal point of my outfit I’ve kept everything else to a minimum: simple gold hoops, a classic black dress, cute but not too OTT hair slides and a black beaded bag that blends in with the dress.

I best get my dance moves ready, as this year my shoes are going to be the star of the show!

I might have gone a little bit off-piste, with a darker red boot instead of a little red shoe, but after 10 attempts to style up an outfit with red ballet flats, I realised that maybe they just aren’t me and that is totally OK!

This darker shade of red feels richer, sexier and more expensive, which I love!

I also love hi-lo dressing – a Cos silky maxi-dress mixed with a man-ish Arket overcoat, Zara statement earrings with a woolly H&M balaclava, Next stiletto boots with a Boden checked shopper.

Just add a berry red lip and I am done.

It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely mine!

Red is without a doubt the colour of the season which I am super happy about because I am all about colour.

So I have gone all in with a head-to-toe red outfit – from a slinky tea dress, to killer heels and a tailored coat.

This is a really simple, stylish and effective way to wear the colour.

And I’ve accentuated the look with the perfect pair of rectangle hoops and gold detail bag. I heart.
