In his video, Nathan Triska (@nathantriska) demonstrated the budget-friendly decor tip.

“This is the absolute best Christmas hack on a budget, I have to shout out my mom for this one because she came up with this,” he said.

“The best part is, if you already have tape at home, all you need is $1 to buy wrapping paper at the dollar store,” the TikToker continued.

Nathan revealed that he decided to take the extra step and invest in ribbons as a finishing touch, totaling $5.75.

“All you want to do is take down every picture in your house or just a few of them,” he advised his viewers.

“Then you’re going to lay it out, wrap it, and see how much wrapping paper you need,” Nathan said, demonstrating the steps.

“You’re going to go ahead and wrap it but be careful not to wrap the whole thing, you do not want to wrap [the back part that] hangs on the wall,” he said.

“Then before you know it, it’s going to look like you literally have presents hanging on the wall,” Nathan said, showing his followers.

He decorated all the pictures throughout his home, adding ribbons to the center of each.

“I remember when my nieces and nephews were little, they loved this,” Nathan explained.

“They would always ask to open the presents on the wall because they literally thought there were presents inside them,” he said.

Nathan advised his audience to be gentle with the wrapped pictures as they can rip easily.

TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the hack.

“This is such a great way to add Christmas decor without spending a ton and having to rearrange everything!!” wrote one viewer.

“OMG, what a smart idea!! I love this and love that you learned from your mom!!” said another follower.

“My mom always did this too and I’ve done it every year since moving out also, it’s so cute and cheap,” commented a third person.
