Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock ‘distraught’ after £40,000 engagement ring stolen from home
Leigh-Anne Pinnock is said to be ‘distraught’ after having her engagement ring stolen from her home.
The Little Mix singer got engaged to Watford footballer Andre Gray in May 2020 after four years together. They are currently expecting their first child together.
It’s now been reported that the £40,000 engagement ring which Andre, 29, proposed with was stolen from the couple’s mansion while they were moving house.
Leigh-Anne, 29, is believed to have left the ring on top of a safe in a bedroom which was closed shut. However, she realised it was missing later in the day when the movers had finished in the other rooms.
A source told The Sun: ‘Leigh-Anne is distraught. It was her engagement ring that was stolen which, obviously, had huge sentimental value.
‘She accidentally left it out and when she came back, it was gone. It’s hugely upsetting anyone can behave in this manner. Leigh-Anne and Andre are doing all they can to get to the bottom of it, and get their ring back. It’s not about the money — it’s the principle.’
The couple recently sold their mansion in favour of a more family-friendly home as they expect their first child, and to be closer to Andre’s training ground.
The insider also claimed that Leigh-Anne was ‘going mad’ after the theft and was ‘so upset and furious’.
‘She doesn’t need the stress,’ they added in reference to her pregnancy.
‘The ring is a symbol of their love, so she was super careful about what she did with it during the move. Leigh-Anne and Andre both feel gutted, properly betrayed, of course you would,’ the source said.
Surrey Police confirmed they had been contacted about the incident and told the publication: ‘Officers were called on May 13 after reports of a theft where an engagement ring was taken.
‘The theft is believed to have taken place between 8am and 6pm. Inquiries remain ongoing.’
Leigh-Anne announced her engagement a year ago with photos of Andre’s romantic proposal in the garden as the singer flashed the engagement ring, surrounded by a stunning display of fairy lights.
‘Guys.. wtf has just happened… He bloody did it, and I said yes,’ Leigh-Anne wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
‘I’m marrying my soul mate, the man of my flipping dreams… I am lost for words, so I think I’m just going to go cry some more @andregray_ I love you so much. My world is literally complete.’
