I’m nearly 60 and love wearing see-through skirts – I’m not too old, I’d rather look fabulous than frumpy

One older woman has refused to fade into the background and continues to wear designer high heels, sheer skirts and sequins at nearly 60.

However, Renia Jaz’s life wasn’t always so glamorous.
Like many little girls, she loved trying on dresses and new trends in her native Poland.
She and her mum even bonded over their love of style, with the mature fashionista claiming that her mum was her ‘mentor’ whilst growing up in the USSR.
Despite having an obvious passion for fashion, it wasn’t until later in life that Renia began to pursue her dreams and made the decision to move to the UK.
Having settled in England over 20 years ago, she then focused on building her fashion empire on social media.
Whilst some mature women hide behind baggy M&S jumpers, this 58-year-old fashionista loves wearing Loewe high heels, backless dresses and Stella McCartney capes straight from the runway.
Unsurprisingly, she has gained a huge following with over 120,000 fans on Tiktok and a further 340,000 on Instagram.
This isn’t just a vanity project though, with the self-styled ‘ageism fighter’ telling fashion brand Huishan Zhang: “My aim is also to show that we should not allow our age to exclude us from any areas of life. Women over 50 do not disappear from the face of the Earth.”
She pointedly added: “I want to fight with the stereotype that mature women should give up their passions and ambitions.”
Though she has met plenty of like-minded women who share her love for fashion, Renia still has received criticism online for her luxe looks.
When she shared a video of her wearing a sheer sparkly skirt, trolls immediately targeted the viral video leaving sexist and ageist comments.
As creepy men lusted over her ‘sexy legs’, another user asked why she didn’t cover up.
They wrote: “Do you ever wear stockings? Do your legs get cold?”
Some also struggled to accept her not-off-the-rack style, with a third saying: “I really don’t like it. It has nothing to do with your age, even for younger ladies, I just don’t like it. It’s not my style.”
Others even accused her of flaunting her wealth, after seeing how many designer pieces Renia had in her wardrobe.
“Can you make some videos with clothes that aren’t considered ‘luxury brands’?” begged a fourth.
However, these comments haven’t stopped her from posting about her stylish life and the mature fashion influencer has gone on to collab with major brands.
As well as modelling for Huishan Zhang, the 58-year-old recently attended her first Hermes catwalk during Paris Fashion Week.
Gushing in the caption, she wrote: “Such an exciting moment. Dreams do come true!”
With her approaching sixty and showing no signs of slowing down, we can’t wait to see how this fashionista tackles trends in 2024.
