Just because frills are pretty, doesn’t mean you can’t toughen them up a bit. I love the contrast created by pairing this gorgeous frilly & Other Stories blouse with clean, tailored workwear.
I have gone for a bit of an equestrian feel for this outfit, because it feels so right at the minute.
This Marks & Spencer bag is a great Gucci Jackie bag dupe and these ultra -flat Mango riding boots are giving me all the ’80s sloane ranger vibes.
Add an oversized trench on top and this look has just the right amount of irony to make it cool.
And while I don’t own a horse or a Chelsea Tractor, I can pretend I have a few quid in the bank wearing these expensive-looking high-street pieces!

Feminine frills always feel too girlie for my style, so I like to go for a sophisticated take on the trend that’s perfect for the evening.Be it a dinner date or catch-up cocktails with my mates, this bold frilled skirt gives a statement feel without trying too hard.
To lift the black, I’d wear it with a figure-hugging top like this gathered number, which is great for creating shape under the bust and around the waist. I also love its slightly high neck, which gives it an elegant feel.
I’m in love with these slingback Miu Miu dupes from M&S, costing £875 less than the designer alternative.
Paired with simple gold accessories, this is an impactful and designer-looking outfit for a whole lot less.

I’ve been inspired by country megastar Dolly Parton and gone all cowboy with my frilly shirt!
I love the muted shade of pink with a slight gold shimmer on this Sister Jane shirt, and – of course – the ruffle details.
Worn with the wrong pieces, this shirt could look quite gimmicky so I’ve made sure the rest of my outfit gives a grown-up feel.
Wide-leg jeans are my new favourite cut of denim and I love this pair from Next.
Ballet flats are still a major trend this year and they keep my outfit looking nice and casual.
Add a pair of chunky gold earrings and a practical, classic bag, and this outfit is giving country gal heading to the big city vibes,

H&M is absolutely killing it with its knitwear this season, and I’ve had my eye on this frill-trim knit since it launched last week. Frills are eye catching and give any look a facelift, so when it comes to ruffled knitwear, it’s best to opt for something lightweight.
This jumper has just been released in a blue colourway too, which would be lovely for spring!
I like the way feminine ruffles and frills look on other people, but I prefer to adopt a more subtle style myself. Frill trims are the perfect subtle way to wear the trend while still adding some va-va-voom to an otherwise ordinary outfit.
Paired with these wide-leg trousers, checked trench and kitten-heel boots, you’ll look fab, whether you’re heading to the office or for a spot of shopping.
