I splashed out on Skims for a fancy event – the crotch snapped and my bodysuit rose like a lampshade, I had no undies on
A SKIMS shopper was left mortified when her undergarment broke off at a big event.
She said it rode up her body faster than she could stop it, and she was forced to come up with her own, very uncomfortable solution.

Stefanie Fritz (@stefaniefritzxo) is a makeup artist and mother in her 40s who loves all things beauty and fashion.
That’s why she was excited to finally get all dressed up and get out of the house for a fancy event she had coming up.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worst.
“I am so frustrated with Kim Kardashian and Skims right now,” she began in the clip, adding that she hoped her “Skims rant” would warn followers.
As a member of the Sephora Squad, she was invited to a “big deal” brand event that brought together all the best beauty content creators.
“I got this cute, pink dress from Revolve. It was pretty short. And I definitely wanted to get a nice shapewear for underneath so that I would feel my most confident.”
While she normally wears Spanx, she decided to treat herself to something new and bought the $70 Skims Brief Bodysuit, which features a built-in bra and snap closure at the bottom with a fully covered backside.
It was a change she regretted.
She ordered both a medium and large, and ended up going with the large, as she noted that it runs very small.
“It was compressive enough but wasn’t like a sausage in a casing.”
She forewent any underwear because she thought that was “the whole point” of the snap crotch and noted that her whole butt was covered anyways, as it wasn’t a thong.
One aspect she liked? The boob support that didn’t need an underwire.
As for the rest? Not so much.
“I’m sitting in the second row, feeling very cute in my pink short dress. Patrick Ta is up doing his master class.
“I feel the snap crotch open up. Like, it came unsnapped. I’m like, ‘Holy crap. I’ve got to go to the bathroom and fix this right away.’
“And as I stand up, the shape wear is rising like a lamp shade. The s*** just went right up. So, I’m like, ‘Oh my God. Is my dress rising? What is happening?’”
She went to the bathroom to check if something had broken.
Stefanie noted that the bodysuit wasn’t even that tight on her, so it wasn’t a tension or sizing issue.
After trying to snap it closed, she realized she was out of luck.
“You know what a good snap sounds like? Like you pop the two things together and it sounds good? That was not happening. There was no visible click.”
When she stood up, it opened up again – and she began to panic, realizing it wasn’t going to work out.
“What am I going to do? My options are to somehow figure out how I’m going to clasp this thing or go commando, but this is also my bra and I can’t leave it riding up halfway to my boobs.
“It was so awkward on so many levels.”
She asked around for a safety pin and eventually found a big one that held the body suit together.
“Do you know how uncomfortable it is to sit on a safety pin like that?
“The rest of my day was pretty uncomfortable because I was worried that the safety pin was going to open up and stab me.”
Frustrated with her experience, she messaged Skims explaining what happened and asked for her money back, even though she had already worn it – and they asked for video proof.
“I just wanted to throw this out there as a warning.”
She said while a Skims biker short or bodysuit without a clasp might work well, the snap crotch should be “avoided.”
Viewers were impressed with her solution.
“Safety pin in the hooha?! Ouch,” one wrote.
“Girl, you are brave! I would never put a safety pin near my hooha,” added another.
Viewers were shocked that she was able to sit all night with a safety pin so close to a dangerous areaTikTok/stefaniefritzxo
