I’m a size 26 & my bestie is a 12 – we both looked cute in the same Asda dress, but a jacket was as stiff as a bath mat

TWO best friends have tried on some of the new-in fashion staples from Asda, to show how they look on different body shapes.

Laura Adlington, a plus-size fashionista and Great British Bake Off star, who is a size 26, and her bestie, Lottie Drynan, who is a size 12, explained that they have found a dress that looks ‘cute’ on both of their bodies.

However, their haul wasn’t a total success – as they struggled to get into a jacket that was as stiff as a ‘bath mat’.

Sharing their clip on social media, Laura said: “Hi I’m Laura and I’m a size 26.”

Lottie then chimed in: “Hi I’m Lottie and I’m a size 12”

Following this, they both beamed: “And welcome to same dress, different bodies, supermarket edition.”

To kick off the clip, the duo first tried on a black floral dress, as Lottie explained: “For £16, this is good. This is nice.”

But Laura was met with mixed opinions, as she added: “It’s more of a top on me because I’m tall. Cute.”

The blonde beauties then attempted to try on a brown leather biker jacket, but were met with difficulty, as they struggled to get it on.

Lottie admitted: “I’m not gonna lie, it’s as stiff as a f*****g bath mat. It feels like I’m putting a bath mat on.

“It looked nice on the hanger, how is it so wrong?”

Laura then chimed in: “Even the arms are so short.”

Following the jacket saga, the pair also tried on a long-sleeved black polka dot dress, as Lottie beamed: “This is actually really, really cute.”

Laura agreed: “This looks so lovely on you. Love the bust, it’s got lots of stretch.”

Love this. Well done Asda

Lottie Drynan

Clearly thrilled with the tiered frock, Lottie continued: “It’s meant to be maternity but it doesn’t make a difference at all.”

“Loads of room, really comfy. Love this. Well done Asda.”

But things weren’t quite as positive when the fashion fans modelled a zebra print zip-up jacket.

Laura shared: “Too short, but I think it looks quite cute on you”, to which Lottie admitted: “It’s a bit stiff, not that soft.

“I reckon it could have three washes and then it’s done.”

But Laura was soon impressed after trying on a teal-coloured jacket, as she explained: “This is something I’d never normally pick but I love this. I think I’m gonna buy this.”

Lottie then agreed: “It’s fine on me but it looks really good on you. That’s a good dog walking coat.”

Easy and comfortable to wear and it’s £18

For the final item in the duo’s try-on haul, we saw them show off in a black floral frock.

But the pair were left with mixed opinions, as while Laura shared: “I like it, it’s a lovely jersey material, really stretchy. Easy and comfortable to wear and it’s £18”, Lottie claimed: “It’s hideous.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under Laura’s profile @lauraadlington just 15 hours ago, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 156,300 views.

Social media users were impressed with the clip and were eager to share their thoughts in the comments.

One person said: “Love these videos!! It really shows sometimes how shops get it so right but also so wrong.”

Another added: “Love watching your videos ladies – literally had to leave mid video to purchase the black and white tiered dress!”

Whilst a third commented: “You two make me laugh so much.”
