A new teaser for season four of Cobra Kai on Netflix has shown the first look at villain Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), as he promises to bring ‘pain’ when he returns.

Cobra Kai, which launched in 2018, is a martial arts TV series set in the world of the Karate Kid films, starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka as former rivals Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence.

One dastardly character yet to show up is Karate Kid III character Silver, an ally of John Kreese (Martin Kove), the merciless antagonist of the first Karate Kid film.

However, Silver is now back – and it looks like he’s taking no prisoners.

In a new teaser, Silver – who is a Vietnam War veteran and previously handed over the Cobra Kai dojo to Kreese – is shown shrouded in darkness, his back to the camera as a voiceover recites a quote from Karate Kid III.

‘A man can’t stand, he can’t fight. A man can’t breathe, he can’t fight. A man can’t see, he can’t fight,’ the voiceover states threateningly, before the voice deepens to add: ‘Extreme situations require extreme measures.’

As the camera zooms in closer on the back of Silver’s head, a caption then appears on screen that reads: ‘Now the real pain begins.’

In the synopsis for the teaser shared by Netflix, it teases that Silver is going to get things ‘rolling’.

‘Have patience. He’s just getting everything rolling. Terry Silver returns to the dojo for Cobra Kai IV,’ it says.

Several fans expressed their excitement over Silver’s return and what it could mean for Cobra Kai.

‘This season is going to destroy me. I’m so ready,’ one person tweeted.

‘Never thought I’d get so invested in a TV show based on movies from the 80s, but man did this get me fired up,’ another said in reaction to the teaser.

Someone else remarked: ‘I hoped for this in the first two seasons, I called it in the season 3 finale. And now it’s official and I’m freaking out!!! #TerrySilver #CobraKaiSeason4.

A number of Cobra Kai fans thought that Silver might be on the way back after the season three finale, when Kreese made a call to an unknown individual while holding a photograph of himself and his friend from the Vietnam War.

While all Kreese said on the phone was: ‘Hey, long time,’ many people guessed correctly that Silver would be returning.

Now that we know for sure, we’re expecting this reunion to pull no punches.

Cobra Kai is available to watch on Netflix.
