‘Jon Jones is a Different Animal’- Dana White Opens Up on Why He Isn’t Pumped By Jones Jones Return

Jon Jones and his issues with UFC have escalated to such a point that Dana White is now not even bothering much about his impending return. The President is clear on Jones’ issue. He won’t be waiting around and scheduling his matches on Jones’ terms.

Recently, he appeared for an interview where he discussed Jones’ issue for the umpteenth time in the last two months. “I have been doing Jon Jones’ thing for 10 years,” he said.

“I know how this thing works. Jon Jones is a different animal. Listen, the fight came into the deal with Brock Lesnar and Fedor at that time. Both these guys wanted to fight each other. They wanted to go out and compete, whatever.”

The boss further said, “That’s not Jon. Jones is one of those guys that could have blown this sport open. He could had a Nike deal where he had shoes for Nike for the next 25-30 years after he retired and stuff like that.”

White said he gets excited when Jones wants to fight for real, but on the other hand, it won’t matter much to him if Jones retires tomorrow.

For him, Jones has already achieved so much and he can retire while still on top. However, the boss will welcome him if he wants to fight Stipe Miocic.

“If Jon Jones calls tomorrow and says I wanna fight Stipe, you know- awesome, let’s make, let’s get a go,” he concluded.

Dana White talks about Donald Cerrone’s future

Cerrone has been a veteran of the game but lately is on a slide that doesn’t seem to stop. But White is of the opinion that all the fights he has lost have come against some of the best in the world.

White says it’s how a fighter loses that makes him talk to them on the future. He further says Cerrone has always stepped for the promotion whenever required.

The president pressed on the importance of showing respect to these legends as they still bring in money whenever they step in the ring.

While Cerrone is certainly inching towards pulling curtains on his career, Jones is far from doing that. He is still the best and the numbers speak for it. It will be interesting to see where the UFC and Jones end up.

Do you think Jones is done with UFC?
