‘Let’s Do It for All the Belts’ – Devin Haney Sends a Clear Message to Teofimo Lopez After Beating Jorge Linares

WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney successfully defended his belt against his toughest challenger yet, in Jorge Linares. ‘The Dream’ continued his unbeaten run in the sport with another professional performance. And after his title defense, Haney sent a clear message to Teofimo Lopez.

Lopez holds three other belts in the lightweight division and also holds the WBC franchise belt. Therefore, the one belt he does not have is Haney’s. And the pair have engaged in several verbal battles over the past few months.

After beating Linares, Haney spoke to Chris Mannix at the post-fight interview and addressed the possibility of facing ‘The Takeover’ next. He said, “Of course, I want to make the biggest fights happen. And if Teofimo Lopez is next, let’s do it.”

‘The Dream’ then spoke about their comments in the build-up to the fight and said, “Of course not, I stayed focused on Jorge Linares, I knew that he was a tough competitor, I focused on my game plan, and I went in there and I got the job done. If Teofimo wants to get in there next, let’s do it for all the belts. The real undisputed.”
