No, that isn’t a picture of Larry David, nor is it Mick from Gavin and Stacey out for a jog. It is, in fact, a James Bond legend…

But can you work out who it is?

One 007 icon has undergone a serious transformation for his next role, with the years added to him via the magic of hair and makeup.

The Hollywood star takes on a role in the boxing movie Giant, which is based on the true-life story of British-Yemeni boxer Prince Naseem ‘Naz’ Hamed and his rags-to-riches ascent to a world championship under the tutelage of Irish-born boxing trainer Brendan Ingle.

You’re very much forgiven if you haven’t sussed out the actor’s identity by now because, well, his transformation is impressive… but it’s only Pierce Brosnan!

The Irish Mamma Mia! star, 70, looks worlds away from his usual on-screen self, as we’re far more used to him looking dapper in tailored suits.

For this role, however – where he stars alongside Amir El-Masry – Brosnan swaps Armani for Adidas.

Sporting a blue tracksuit and white trainers, he was seen strolling down the street and in high spirits between takes.

To play Ingle, his locks are white and have been combed over, also wears glasses on his face.

Larking around while on set, Brosnan jokingly put his fists up after spotting a camera and flashed a smile.

Filming is currently taking place in Yorkshire for the project written and directed by Rowan Athale, also behind The Rise.

There’s a stellar team on board, as Mark Lane of Tea Shop Productions and Kevin Sampson of White Star Productions will produce, while AGC Studios (Moonfall and Tinder Swindler) will fully finance and produce.

Giant is set to be an impactful watch as it explores the humble beginnings of Hamed, who grew up on the working-class streets of Sheffield.

He was later discovered by Ingle, a steel industry worker turned boxing trainer.

Their unlikely partnership, along with Naz’s cocky boxing persona and dominance in the ring style, catapults them to the top of the game.

Taking place in the 1980s and 90s, this all came at a time of raging Islamophobia and racism in Britain, which Hamed had to overcome in order to rival boxing elite.

Speaking about the film director and screenwriter Athale previously said he’s been eager to tell the story for years.

‘The story of fabled boxing trainer Brendan Ingle and his tempestuous relationship with protege “Prince” Naseem is both legendary and truly cinematic,’ he told Variety.

‘It’s exciting, necessary, hilarious, and heartbreaking, and to be making this movie with the incomparable Paddy Considine and Mena Massoud, and with the support of the one and only Sylvester Stallone and his Balboa Productions team, is a dream come true.’
